Earlier this week I mentioned that I wanted to be a paid writer. I posted ads on various websites, submitted resumes, and chatted with some of my friends in the professional world. I’m determined to build a strong portfolio of diverse writing samples so that I can better market myself as a writer. And am going to continue writing: on my blog, in various notebooks I carry around with me nearly everywhere. The more I write, the better I will get.
The other day when I took the princess to her dance class, I started working on a character description. I’ve got at least one novel living in my brain that is just waiting to come out. All sorts of different moms wait in the room just outside dance class and without knowing it start the creative part of my brain rolling. So, I’m practicing putting pencil to paper and jotting down my ideas.
Another one of the ways I’m trying to get writing experience is to blog for money. It shouldn’t come as a shock to any of my readers to hear that I have opinions. I have lots of opinions. Why not get paid to blog about those opinions?
The way I see it, the situation is a win-win. Lots of folks out there want to advertise on blogs. And I’m someone who wants to get paid to write.
How cool is that?
Who knows where my efforts to blog for money will take me.
Maybe to the top of the NY Times Best Seller list. Hey, a girl can dream, you know!

that would be so cool! the only professional writer that i kind of know, is buddha butt’s very favorite professor ever’s daughter – she’s a sci fi writer and is amazing – when you publish i can say that i know 2.
