Thnks fr th Mmrs

One of the perks to my One and Only having an alarm that goes off at o'dark-thirty (about 5 AM) during the work week is that we either get to listen to some funny stuff from the previous day's morning show or, if we're really lucky, we get to hear a great song for the first time. When I was among the professional population and could listen to music on the commute to the office or all day at my desk, I knew a whole lot more current music from various genres and artists. These days, the bulk of my music knowledge consists of young pop stars family-friendly enough to be seen all over the Disney Channel (think Hannah Montana and High School Music soundtracks).

But this morning, OAO and I heard a song we liked so much that neither of us insisted on hitting the snooze button even once. And within about 2 minutes of OAO rising, he called the station to see who it was and what it was called. All we remembered was a great beat and the words "Thanks for the Memories." I could just close my eyes and dance to this song all day.

Turns out it's Fall Out Boy, and after a lengthy search on iTunes at about 5:20AM this morning, the actual title of the song is Thnks fr th Mmrs. It's from the CD Infinity on High (what a great title!) BTW, if you check out their website, you can listen to all of their music before you buy it. Sweet!

Here's the video on YouTube:

And for those of you who enjoy lyrics - here you go!

I'm gonna make you bend and break
(it sent you to me without wings)
Say a prayer, but let the good times roll
In case God doesn't show
(let the good times roll, let the good times roll)
And I want these words to make things right
But it's the wrongs that make the words come to life
Who does he think he is?
If that's the worst you've got, better put your fingers back to the keys

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
He tastes like you only sweeter

One night yeah and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Thanks for the memories
See he tastes like you only sweeter
Ohhhhhh

Been looking forward to the future
But my eyesight is going bad
In this crystal ball
It's always cloudy except for (except for)
When you look into the past (look into the past)
One night stand. (One night stand, off!)

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
He tastes like you only sweeter

One night yeah one more time
Thanks for the memories
Thanks for the memories
See, he tastes like you only sweeter
Ohhhh

(They say) I only think in the form of crunching numbers
In hotel rooms, collecting page-six lovers
Get me out of my mind
Get you out of those clothes
I'm a line away
From getting you into the mood (wa-ooooohhh)

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
He tastes like you only sweeter

One night yeah one more time
Thanks for the memories
Thanks for the memories
See, he tastes like you only sweeter

One night and one more time (one more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great (even though they weren't so great)
He tastes like you only sweeter

One night yeah one more time (one more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories (for the memories)
Thanks for the memories (for the memories)
See, he tastes like you only sweeter

I better get moving. The kiddles will be up soon, and we have much to do on the day before their big trip to meet the most famous mouse in the world!
