But it wasn't so bad. I allowed the Superhero to bring his little Backyardigans ball into the office. And we sat on the floor and had a roaring good time rolling it back and forth during our wait. We rolled it with our hands, then we rolled it with the back of our hands. For a minute or two, we even used our tummies to stop the rolling ball. It was so cute to watch him come up with all the different rules of the game. And being a part of his giggle fest certainly made my time more exciting. Several of the people in the waiting room glanced over now and again as we played.
I'm a part of a regular Tuesday morning women's group. We're reading a book called Calm My Anxious Heart: A Women's Guide to Finding Contentment
6 Months ago, I would have been so irritated that I had to wait to see the doctor. Today, I was thankful that he was running late: I wouldn't have had that awesome play time with my little guy if the doctor was running on schedule.
Here's today's list of gratitude - and since I've already discussed play time with my son, I'll come up with 5 other things.
1) I'm glad I stood on the scale today at the doctor's office. It confirms that I definitely have been lazy for far too long and need to be kinder to the body I have: I must treat it with the love and respect it deserves so that it can keep me healthy for many years to come.
2) Dinner was yummy tonight! My "a-la-Susan creations" don't always come out so well... and tonight's was pretty fantastic.
3) Quiet time at the end of the day is a wonderful way for me to unwind. I worked on some blogs for a client and I'm writing my own thoughts. That's sometimes challenging during the day.
4) My ENT gave me oodles of prescriptions to fill before surgery. How fabulous that I can be prepared with my Percocet before surgery. We won't have to wait at the Target Pharmacy on the way home from my procedure. Yay!
5) I got all the shopping for the CHC Valentine's party finished. I'm way ahead of the game - which is exactly where I wanted to be before I have the tonsillectomy.
I feel so much calmer looking at the positive side of things.
