My tonsils came out on Monday. And I can confirm today that what the doctors say is true: It's about 4 days after surgery that the pain really begins. But, in my effort to be less whiny and more focused on the good that comes from an unfortunate circumstance, today I will write 5 things that I'm thankful for:
1) The gorgeous snow covered trees that I could gaze at through my bedroom window as I drifted off to sleep for an afternoon nap.
2) My father-in-law who came down today to keep the children occupied so that I could rest.
3) The unexpected family time with my One-and-Only, the kids, and his dad & step mother that the snow storm brought us today. They're all having a blast playing the Wii. I'm with them in spirit - and thankful they're all occupied and not climbing on mommy (the kids, anyway)
4) ICE... can't seem to get enough of it into my mouth... but man, am I so grateful for it.
5) Ice Cream. Rumor has it, a friend is bringing some by tonight. I'm so ready to risk a snotty nose due to dairy consumption because the soft, COLD, really stuff will truly help numb my throat.
BTW, please forgive type-o. Those prescription painkillers make me groggy and make focusing a bit of a challenge.

You're a strong, focused woman. Acknowledge the pain. Don't compare it to 'what good feels like'. It is what it is. You can do it, Mistress Reiki!!!!!!
Is stoned blogging a better or worse idea then drunk dialing the old SO in college?
Glad to see that even on the bad day you've got a blog in you.
Even while doped up, on prescribed narcotics, for anyone concerned, my brain is full of things to write about. I'm thankful my readers understand and appreciate my stoned blogging. It's way cooler than drunk dialing :)
