Boy, last week was a weird one. The Princess started us out with the chicken pox. By the end of the week, she also had an ear infection (which ruptured her ear drum by Monday morning) and our Superhero' runny nose, cough, and fever turned into pneumonia. His doctor visit Saturday indicated a virus/bacteria - probably the same one little miss had stuck in her ear. On Monday, though, after waking up for the 5th day with a fever and a horrid cough, the nurse practitioner sent us for a chest x-ray.
Despite those germs, we had much to celebrate! Thanksgiving was peaceful. Egg-free pumpkin pie was a very yummy end to a savory dinner for four. And Saturday, our Superhero turned 3. Wow! Mentally, I went through his pregnancy and birth story, ready to write a post about that experience, which explains why I call him Superhero. But, alas, I'm not ready to get it out there to the world.
Someday, though. Soon.
And on top of all the fun with trips to the doctor's offices, I've been enjoying writing for a couple of folks I found through my favorite new website: Elance Sure, the novel writing ended at a mere 1700ish words. But, I have been writing... consistently and for actual clients :) Saturday I'll post a link full of my blog posts for a place in Whistler Canada... you know, the host of the 2010 Olympic Games. That's when the site goes live. Wouldn't be fair to blast the web address early.
But I can post this link to a post for another client! This was a test assignment. I passed :) And supposedly, test assignments are rarely used for their client needs. Guess what? This one was good enough to use for someone who actually needed it. Yay! I'll write 8 more posts for the this client (about all sorts of topics). Assuming that goes well, I've got a long-term writing gig for them. Yay! I'm getting paid to write!!
So, while my own blogs have been a little neglected, it's only because my energy has been spent elsewhere :)
But, no worries, I learned about a month ago my tonsils have to come out. And I decided yesterday after an un-fun experience at the ENT office that the sooner, the better. So, in early January, I'll have all sorts of time to catch up with my own stuff :)
In the words my pal Deeno: Good times!
